I'm Back

For anyone interested in my health and well being, I have removed the plaster from my wrist and its feeling OK. There is still a lot of swelling, but I am doing lots of massage and physiotherapy on it, slowly slowly as they say. I have it supported in a wrist strap, which means I can now work again at Reiners Pub, gosh it was boring doing nothing for four weeks, I'm glad to be back at work however stupid that may sound, it makes you appreciate the free time you do have.

Run its course!

Smoking at Reiner's Pub has obviously struck a cord with many visitors to my web site, in fact far too many comments to publish.  I think the subject should be closed now before it gets out of hand.  I thank you all for your response to my blogs but now its time to move on to other things that affect us just as much as this one.  I welcome and appreciate your comments,  thank you. Wendy

Morning Friends

So after having a lovely weekend in Seville with friends I slipped over on Tuesday morning and broke and dislocated my right wrist! This is a big blow for me as I am not used to sitting around doing nothing and also I miss all the quests who come to lunch at Reiners Pub where I work. I am out of action for at least six weeks, but having said that its surprising how quickly you learn to adapt, typing with one hand though is very frustrating this post will probably take me most of the morning.

Merry Christmas everyone

Well the time for gluttony is nearly over, and I for one am a bit worried about fitting into the party dress for New Year's Eve. We are going to the Jardin Tropical Restaurant for the evening with friends and I think it should be a good evening. A big Merry Christmas to all my readers out there, I hope you've all had a good Christmas and I wish you all a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Christmas Get Together

The Christmas Quiz that was to have taken place on the 22nd December has been cancelled But because Jackie and I have already brought mince pies and other goodies back from the UK during recent visits for the quiz night it was decided yesterday that we would have an informal get together on Saturday 15th December to eat all the goodies and have a bit of fun.

Festive Season

I’m just back from the UK having visited my family and friends, had a great time, but oh boy was it cold!  I bought a pair of cheap Ugg lookalikes while I was there and yesterday I had to have them surgically removed, I even managed to shower and not get them wet!!  I also have a fur lined coat which is totally inappropriate and over the top for Charco del Palo, buy hell, who cares.  I like to rug up on a cold winters night even here in Lanzarote.

Anyhow now I’m back its time to let you know what’s happening in Charco del Palo and Lanzarote over the Christmas and New Year Period.

Rain Rain go away!

Last Thursday (11th Oct)  it rained in Lanzarote for the first time in over 18months! Now can you believe it, it rained again yesterday (Thursday 18th) it started during the afternoon and continued on and off right through the night and was still doing it a bit this morning.  I hope there isn’t a pattern forming!

But……….its now 9.15am (Friday 19th Oct) and the sun is shining, everything looks clean and the plants appear to be smiling they are so happy with the drenching they’ve had.  Lets hope today is a better day.

Massage in Centro

Yesterday I noticed that one of the units in Centro Comercial, Charco del Palo was being fitted out for Massage. I will try and get more information today.

Information Day

Today I received an invitation to an Information day to be held in Charco del Palo this coming Saturday between 11am and 7pm.  We do have a sort of committee who oversee any improvements to the village and surrounding areas and it is these committee members who will be there to answer any questions.   I think it will be very informal, there’s to be a barbeque and a few drinks to mellow those who do turn up.  I for one will go along and have my say,  I feel very strongly about the people who let their dogs sh-t outside my house and do not pick it up, I think there sh
