Supermarket

P1017899

Just wanted to do a little reminder about the opening hours of our supermarket here in Charco del Palo.   Since the new owners took it on about two years ago we now have better opening times i.e. everyday except Sundays from 8am till 8pm (During July and August 8am till 6pm).  The stock has improved and they are baking an assortment of fresh bread everyday.  There is an excellent selection of wine, and now that La Bodeguita has closed its good to have another place to purchase good value wine and beers. There is also a good selection of pre wrapped deli products, better selection of frozen goods and of course two fridges full of ice creams.

So that's all well and good, but what about Sundays?  In case you hadn’t realised everything in Charco del Palo is closed on a Sunday until 5pm when Peters Pub opens for evening meals.  Come on restaurateurs get your act together, can’t you see there is an opening here for someone to make a bit of extra money.  How can you have a holiday village and nothing open on Sunday till 5pm .  Crazy !!

Supermarket etc.

Hi Wendy Congratulations on becoming a supergran - I'm over for a few days from the 21st so look forward to seeing the phographs! When you say "everything in Charco del Palo is closed on a Sunday" does that mean that Peter's is closed for lunch and dinner on Sundays and La Tunera is also not open in the evening? If that's the case, do you happen to know if Don Quixote serves meals? If not it could be everyone back to your house! (only joking) See you in a couple of weeks Trevor

nothing open?

Sorry I've just re read the blog I put up earlier and I have made some adjustments to it. When I say nothing is open I meant to say that nothing is open until 5pm in the afternoon when Peter's Pub and La Tunera both open their doors for custom. The point I was trying to make was, there is nowhere to buy a coffee or a snack during the day time and I think if you were visiting Charco del Palo for the first time you would be very disappointed to find nothing open.
