It is with extreme sadness that I have to tell you all that Anita who owns Casa Austria passed away on the morning of the 10th January 2018. Anita was 57 years old, so young to be taken, she was such a big presence and was known by so many people. She was such a generous person and always willing to help and be part of everything that was going on in Charco del Palo.
On the 19th February 2015 I wrote the following blog for Anita, she was celebrating arriving in Charco del Palo for the first time and building her dream home. Please check out the blog, its a great story and it goes to prove what a strong minded and tough person she was. Anita's 30th Anniversary Our condolences go to Bobby her partner for 14 years and to her remaining family in Austria and to all her close friends and family in Lanzarote. Anita You will be missed by many, RIP lovely lady and good friend to many. At Anita's request there was a private cremation today (Tuesday 11th January 2018) Obituary written with the permission of Bobby.

It is with great sadness that both Terry and I read this news, having just returned from Christmas at Casa Austria where again we had a most wonderful holiday. Anita was so welcoming as was Bobby and made us feel like we belonged. We enjoyed many a slice of cake next to the pool supplied by Anita. Such a warm and lovely lady. We will really miss her. Our love and best wishes to Bobby and all of Anita's family at this difficult and sad time.

We were very sorry to hear the sad news about Anita. She has been a friendly face since we first started visiting Charco and was always there with a smile and happy to chat. I still love to wear the delicate scarves she made and they will be a lovely reminder of a lovely lady. Please pass our condolences to Bobby and her family. X

We stayed at Casa Austria in October 2017. It was our first holiday in Charco Del Palo and at Casa Austria. Anita made us feel very welcome on arrival and throughout our holiday and we had very relaxing time. On our return to the UK, we decided to book two more holidays at Casa Austria in 2018. We are both very saddened to hear that Anita has passed away earlier in January and our condolences go out to Bobby and Anita's family.

We stayed at Casa Austria on uur very first visit to Charco del Palo in 2003 and went back 7 times on the trot until we gave up work. She was amazingly welcoming to us even though we arrived late after going completely the wrong way around the island from the airport. Lovely genuine person who seemed to care for everyone.
