The first night of the Mercadillo de Navidad at the Cantina de Mala was a great success. Loads of people, lots of variety and a great atmosphere. Tonight (Thursday 21st) we have the carol singers from Haria joining us at 9pm.
Victor the chef at the Cantina has made a "Comida especial" for this three day event "Sauerbraten con Rotkohl y Klösse". Gaby as usual is in charge of the bebida especial "vino caliente "Glühwein", she also has a table full of homemade biscuits and sweets. You can also buy mince pies which are a typical English Christmas tradition along with my infamous chilli jam.
Hopefully see you there tonight.
I was looking at the local weekly news sheet which the Ayuntamiento de Haria puts out every week and I noticed that on Thursday 21st December there will be carol singers at the Centro Comercial Charco del Palo starting at 19.45hrs. The name for the singers is Rancho de Pascuas de Haria, when I looked at the news sheet I did not know what this meant, but my friend Holly came to the rescue, being fluent spanish of course does help. ! They will also be singing at the Cantina de Mala on the same night at 21hrs, so you can combine the carol singers with the Christmas market, (see below)
Don't forget that this week we also have the Mercadillo de Navidad (Christmas market) at the Cantina de Mala from Wednesday 20th December till Friday 22nd December starting at 17hrs till 22hrs
One of the other things to look out for is the Three Kings, Los Reyes Magos de Oriente, they will drive through Charco del Palo late afternoon on the 5th January 2018 at approx 16hrs. You will know they have arrived by the hooting of the car horns. Go out into the street and wave them on, they will throw sweets at you. If you want to see a bigger parade with camels and floats then head to either Arrecife or Ville de Teguise. These two bigger parades normally start around 18hrs.
Have fun and a Very Merry Christmas to you all.

The Don Quijote in Mala is having live music again on the 7th December. This is about the third time recently that Mark the owner of the Don Quijote has organised entertainment at his bar, great news, other bars in Charco del Palo and the surrounding area should make note, "We like live music". I believe the evenings have been a great success so far, long may they continues. Well done Mark.
