We found this little bar last December while we were out on a Belén hunt with friends. When we entered the bar that day we were surprised at just how nice it was. Alan, Neil and Emma all ordered tapas from the bar, but I ordered a Patisco with Bacon, cheese and tomato. (hadn't got a clue what I was ordering) When it arrived all three wished they had ordered the same as me. I did not know what to expect for 2.30€ but it was really tasty. It was a baguette/roll and along with the bacon, cheese and tomato they had also sprinkled a little oregano, then once it was all put together it was placed on the plancher to warm the bread and slightly crisp it on the outside. Yum Yum. Since that time Alan and I have been to the bar on a few occasions to sample this simple but delicious treat. So the bar I am talking about is called La Tahona and it is in Calle Santo Domingo in Ville de Teguise. The Patisco can be ordered with either Lomo (pork) Carne (beef) or Bacon.
Directions are fairly simple, Take the Famara road through Teguise, past the church and down towards the petrol station. When you see the Pizzeria El Sabio on the left corner of a junction turn here into Calle Santo Domingo and La Tahona is just there on the right.
